3. Transportation -Speaking of transportation, why not use horse power instead of gas pumps. Also, getting people to ride together saves; the wedding party could ride together to make the cost of the limo more reasonable, and the limo could transport the bride’s and groom’s families together on the first trip—saving the cost of two limos. You can also use friends’ cars. Think of a lineup of old used cars or VW Beetles?
4. Shop wisely – There are discounts for wedding accessories from plates to invitations, and coupons, too. Use the internet and wedding warehouses, such as couponalbum.com.
5. Use the Web – A website can provide some savings as well as be a great place for memories and sharing. The site can allow you to email invitations and receive RSVPs without mailing costs. You can have people send in pictures and comments, building your own inexpensive wedding album.
6. Do-it-Yourself – Pick your own flowers, make your own food. Have friends help and make it a meaningful sharing of love’s labors. You could even buy disposable cameras and have your friends become the photographers.
7. Rent – Think about renting dishes, decorations, tents or even bridesmaids’ dresses to save.
8. Other savings – Buffets cost less than sit-down dinners, open bars are costly so have one for a limited time, or keep the liquor cost down by having only beer and wine. DJs are less than live bands, and sometimes musical friends can provide more interesting mixes, even performances, for music.
