- January and July are the best times to get good prices on furniture, and buy outdoor furniture in September.
- Shop both the outlet section of furniture stores and discount stores.
- For baby furniture, which will not be permanent, it may be best to buy at a consignment shop.
- If you buy a roomful of furniture or more ask for a bulk discount (10%).
- Note that most furniture is manufactured in High Point, North Carolina. You can shop there for whole sale prices. Just factor in the cost of transportation.
- Beds are expensive. Some companies like Sleep Comfort Adjustable Beds have senior discounts.
